Bay water temperature, 83 degrees....tides are no longer below normal, but a little above normal....I saw
beautiful blue-green water coming down the ship channel from the Gulf yesterday with those higher tides (this is GOOD). Looks like winds are going to stay down for the weekend. |
|
Port Bay is holding good trout drifting throwing soft plastics.? The northern sections of Aransas Bay are
yielding Sheepshead and Drum.? Spalding Byte on southeast shoreline, wading with soft plastics are producing Trout and Redfish.? Spalding Reef is also producing good numbers of Trout up to 18".? California Hole and Estes Flats are producing Trout drifting over shell with soft plastics. |
|
The Bob Hall Pier on Padre Island report that fishing is very slow at this time.? You can connect surf fishing
and gulf pier fishing under one blanket.? When one is bad, both are bad.? The bay piers however are producing lots of Drum.? The majority of Drum are oversized and must be released.? Dead shrimp, sea lice, and crab are the best baits.? Only a few Sand Trout are being caught. Surf fishing is very slow.? The water is not in bad shape but only a few Whiting are being caught in any good numbers. |
|
Good catches over the weekend about 135 miles out were reported.? Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna were
plentiful and closer in the boats were finding Amberjack, Kingfish, Atlantic Sharks as well as Vermillion Snapper.? Offshore fishing again remains very good although today is was quite rough out there. |
